Inspection Trip- Morocco

After organising many trips through Golfbreaks.com I was fortunate enough to be taken to Marrakech in Morocco to inspect some of the golf courses and hotels that are available to play and stay at.

We started by playing at Noria Golf Club which made a great impression as they have several square greens with the mountains as a superb back drop (see photo 1).  We then checked in to Riu Tikida Gardens hotel for 2 nights where we had a pleasant stay.

Round 2 was at Assoufid GC where the hospitality and greens were superb, definitely a place to visit! (photo 2). Round 3 was at Palm Golf Ourika and I wasn't disappointed, great views looking at the mountains and a course that was in great condition! Again, hospitality was superb and would definitely recommend playing here (photo 3 and 4).

After our third round, we were lucky enough to stay at the Kenzi Menara hotel, which was fantastic, all the staff were very helpful and polite, the food was great too, this is the place to stay!

Once we had a filling breakfast, it was off to play round 4 at Samanah Golf Club (photo 5), which again had great hospitality, but, the best attribute to this place was their practice facilities. It had a superb grass driving range and chipping green, putting green next to patio area of the clubhouse and a secret pitching area located in a hidden location which has only just opened. It has 4 greens, with bunkers and small tee boxes, perfect for a short game session!

Round 5, our final game was at the Royal Golf Marrakech and what a treat it was! Brand new clubhouse, changing rooms, Pro Shop and driving range (photo 6) was an absolute pleasure to visit. Built in 1927, it is the oldest course in Morocco and certainly the most mature, having one of the tightest par 3's I have certainly played (photo 7) and tight opening tee shot (photo 8). Again, the hospitality and general visit to this place was amazing and a must go to place.

In summary of my visit to Marrakech, Morocco, I can't wait to return! I will look to stay at the Kenzi Menara hotel and play most of the courses again! Take a look at my video via the link...
